Organizational Description:
CDI, established in Toronto, Ontario, by a group of concerned Canadians, is a non-profit and a non-partisan organization which passionately supports the Iranian people's movement for democracy and human rights in Iran.
Core Activities
• Informing Canadians and the Canadian political and human rights institutions, including the Government of Canada, the
provincial governments as well as civil society organizations about the Iranian people's struggle and their demand for a democratic society.
• Advocating for pro-democracy movements in Iran among media, parliamentarians, and the public at large.
• Mobilizing and engaging Canadians, in particular Iranian Canadians, to support the peaceful efforts of Iranians for democracy
and human rights in Iran.
• Giving voice to survivors of human rights abuse by the Iranian regime and ensuring that perpetrators are accountable for
committed crimes.
• Engaging with the Canadian media to offer insight into the people of Iran for democracy and freedom.
